If you are big into downloading and trying new Windows software and operating systems, Microsoft has now provided Windows 7 available for download as a Beta version. You’re probably thinking “Didn’t they just come out with Vista?”, but Windows 7 is promised to be faster, and more reliable.

This beta can be downloaded as an .ISO image from the Microsoft Windows 7 Download Site in both 32 and 64 bit format. To be able to run this beta, you will need the following system specs:

  • 1 GHz Processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 16 GB Hard Drive Space
  • DVD Drive

If anyone downloads this beta, please leave a comment of your experience.

Windows 7 Beta rocks, now if I could only ger my WinTV software working I would have no further use for XP. Windows 7 loads faster than kUbuntu, the soundblaster beta drivers for the 64 Bit OS are great. The whole experience has been positive, most of my software rund through the MSFT mvd machine.

I nuked a perfectly good Linux partition for this test and so far have no complaints othe than WInYV not working. This is really the OS that MSFT should have introduced instead of Vista.

This is one of those good beta experiences, when the party ends, I’ll be in for a copy of WIndws 7 uktimate, 64 Bit. The whole experience really has restored ny faith in MSFT.

My Tom Clancy games may not work under 7, but it is time to get a PS2 anywau.
